Elegant dessert of pears poached in spiced red wine, sweetened with Best4U.

Ingredients

  • 4 pears
  • 1 1/2 cups red wine
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 allspice berries
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 3 tablespoons Best4U sweetener
  • 1/3 cup orange peel
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Preparation

    Peel pears on a board using a potato peeler; keep them in water until use.

    In a pot, combine red wine, water, allspice, cloves, star anise, orange peel, and Best4U sweetener. Add peeled pears and cinnamon stick, cover and cook over medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

    Cut pears in half. Serve, pour spiced red wine over them, and garnish with star anise, cinnamon, and mint leaves.
