Apple Crumble

Classic apple dessert with crunchy nut topping, sweetened with Best4U.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 apples
  • 70 g almonds
  • 2-3 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 40 g oat flour
  • 40 g rolled oats
  • 70 g cashews
  • 1 teaspoon Best4U sweetener
  • 6 dates + 3 dates
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • Cinnamon to taste

Preparation

    Peel apples and cut into small squares, avoiding the core and any hard parts.

    Heat a pan with butter, when melted, add chopped apple and Best4U sweetener. Add three pitted and chopped dates. Cook over low heat, add cinnamon to taste, and stir until apples are tender.

    For the crumble: Soak 6 pitted dates in hot water, cover and let sit for 10 minutes.

    If almonds are unpeeled, boil them in water for one minute. Drain immediately and place in a cloth, squeeze each almond and they will peel effortlessly.

    Place dates, cashews, and almonds in a food processor. Process to desired texture.

    Add rolled oats, oat flour, and coconut oil. Mix until well combined and crumbs form.

    Preheat oven to 180°C.

    Spread the softened apple on the bottom of a baking dish, top with the crumble mixture, and bake for about 20 minutes or until golden.

    Serve with Greek yogurt, mascarpone cheese, or sugar-free ice cream.
